Polar Thermal Packaging is pleased to announce the launch of its new BloodMove range at the upcoming ISBT Regional Congress show in Milan, Italy. This latest suite of reusable thermal packaging products has been developed for the safe transport of blood, platelets, and plasma, providing reliable temperature control for local, regional, and global shipments.

At the core of the BloodMove range is a bulk shipper designed to maintain intercontinental shipments of blood between 2°C and 8°C for over five days. This solution has been developed to address the logistical requirements of humanitarian response teams, ensuring that essential blood supplies reach their destinations across the world under controlled, optimal conditions.

Since 2015, Polar has been a trusted supplier for the NHS in England, providing essential blood transport containers that support the safe regional distribution of whole blood without the need for any coolants. Building on this established track record, the BloodMove range applies decades of industry expertise to meet the evolving needs of multimodal blood transportation.

Recent market analysis indicates that the global blood transport bags and boxes market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by increasing blood transfusion procedures and a heightened regulatory demand for strict temperature control. Projections estimate that the market value will reach $135.9 million by 2028, with a CAGR of 6.5% from 2022 to 2028, driven by significant anticipated growth in both Europe and Asia-Pacific.

“BloodMove is a practical and timely addition to our portfolio. It reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting safe blood transport both locally and internationally,” says Paul Harrison, Managing Director of Polar Thermal Packaging. “Our goal is to support European and global healthcare providers with dependable solutions that meet strict safety standards during the entire shipping process.”

At the ISBT show in Milan, starting Sunday 1 June at 6pm and running until EOD Tuesday 3 June,  blood industry professionals are invited to visit the Polar stand at B90 to see the BloodMove range in action. This introduction is part of Polar’s continued effort to support safe and efficient blood transport operations worldwide.
